Aloe castanea

Aloe castanea has a stout stem and branches and re-branches
to form a woody shrub to 4 m. with many heads.

Uses: Ideal for rockeries and general landscaping and looks fantastic in a decorative pot.  It is a great resource for sunny, hot spots.
Flowers: The inflorescence has a wavy appearance and occurs from June to August. The tiny dark orange brown flowers are tightly packed with protruding stamens.
Growth Habit: The dense rosettes are formed with many grey-green channelled leaves with margins armed with small brown teeth. Persistent dry dead leaves that can give it an untidy appearance cover the upper portions of the branches.
Growing Guide: Plant in well drained, rich soil in full sun in a sheltered position. Can withstand long periods of drought, but they will thrive and flower more profusely if watered in the growing season. Will tolerate extreme conditions from hot summers to cold winters.
