Aloe succotrina
This South African Aloe grows well in coastal sea-front
gardens and in containers. This aloe does not, however,
do well in summer rainfall gardens and rich soil.
| Uses: | Ideal for rockeries and general landscaping and looks fantastic in a decorative pot. |
| Flowers: | The simple flower spikes grow to a metre and appears during mid-winter. The shiny dark orange red tubular flowers are striking with individual flowers 4cm long. |
| Growth Habit: | Forms a large clustering group with dense rosettes to 1m of upright curved and tapering leaves that are a dull greyish-green colour with firm white teeth scattered along the white cartilaginous margin. |
| Growing Guide: | Thrives in well-drained moderately fertile soil in a warm sunny situation. Enough space should be provided as it will divide and proliferate to form dense clusters to 2 m. in diameter. |
