Aloe thraskii
'Dune Aloe'
South African tree aloe to 3m high.
| Uses: | Ideal for rockeries and general landscaping and looks fantastic in a decorative pot. |
| Flowers: | Inflorescence is a branched panicle and there may be several from a mature rosette at one time flowering during winter. The numerous racemes are densely packed with yellow buds that open a golden yellow with protruding orange stamens that give a bicolour effect. |
| Growth Habit: | Unbranched with a single rosette of deeply grooved and gracefully recurved greyish green leaves that are so strongly recurved that the tips touch the skirt of persistent old dry leaves that clothe the stem. |
| Growing Guide: | In habitat grows in organic rich sand dunes on the beach front where it gets salt laden spray and sea mist, where summers are hot and humid with summer rain fall and there are no frosts. Grow in rich fertile well-drained soil in a warm frost-free situation. |
