Rosa 'Flower Carpet'

A very popular ground cover rose with a long flowering period and exceptional disease resistance.

Uses: Great planted singularly, in groups, or used as a border.  They are also brilliant as a standard rose.
Flowers:
'Amber'
This rose grows into a low, compact bush with dense foliage and is the earliest Flower Carpet Rose to flower, producing masses of flowers from early Spring through to late Autumn. Ideally it prefers full sun, though it will perform with a full day of filtered light. In partial shade (4 – 5 hours of sun a day) it will still bloom though in reduced numbers. The medium-sized flowers themselves open as a golden amber from rich amber buds, progressively shifting to soft pink-apricot as they age. Amber Flower carpet will reach a mature height of between 60 and 90 cm with a mature spread of 90 cm.
'Appleblossom'
Short plump buds begin rich pink then quickly open to provide a mass of semi-double soft beautiful pink flowers.  Flowers are up to 4cm in diameter with anything from 15-20 petals.  Blooms in clusters 15-20cm across, with approximately 18 flowers per cluster.  First blooms appear in late spring, and will come in continual flushes right up to early winter.  In summer blooms fade quickly to near white, then as the season cools, you are again enchanted with clear soft pink blooms that will captivate you.
'Gold'
Beautiful tight yellow buds often are heavily brushed red.   Clusters of semi-double flowers, approximately 5cm in diameter with an average of 15 petals open to seduce you with their colour.   The quickly soften to cream as they mature.  Quick repeat flowering habit.
'Pink'
Short plump buds open to provide a mass of blooms, Flowers grow to approximately 4-5cms in diameter with 15-20 petals.  Blooms in clusters 15-20cm across, with approximately 12-20 flowers per cluster.   First blooms appear in late spring, and will come in continual flushes right up to early winter.   In the warmer areas they can flower for up to 10 months.
'Red'
Small buds quickly open to reveal a single rich velvet wine red flower, offset with deep gold pollen in the centre.  Once established, the plant provides a continuous display of blooms on large clusters of 25 to 30 flowers.
'Scarlet'
Small buds open to reveal masses of vibrant double red blooms.  Mature plants can produce clusters of 6-8 blooms, with each cluster up to 30cm across and over a season a plant can bear 2,000 blooms.
'White'
Creamy white buds are continually forming from early spring onwards.  These buds continually unfurl, almost as though they are impatient to show their glorious centres of rich yellow stamens, surrounded by the almost camellia-like soft white petals.  Flowers are 5 to 6cm in diameter, semi-double, and fall cleanly form the bush maintaining a fresh appearance.
Growth Habit: Quick, low growing – will grow to a height of 10cm and up to 40cm wide.
'Gold'
Careful with this plant – it is more suited to the cooler climates of Victoria and Tasmania, plus the mountain ranges of  New South Wales.  The plant can take full sun in the cooler areas, but is equally at home with half shade or dappled sunlight, this especially so the further north you go, as the climate gets warmer.
Growing Guide:

Place in warm, sunny position.  Water only when soil dries out. For good health and growth use slow release fertiliser.
