Zephyranthes candida
'Autumn Crocus'

‘Autumn Crocus’ are bulbs that flower in summer and autumn.
They have the unusual characteristic of flowering after rain.
The pure white flowers and dark green evergreen leaves make
‘Autumn Crocus’ a useful bulb for edging or filling small spaces.

Uses: Group several together with other bulbs or small plants in the garden border or rockery.  Treasure in a bulb pot and use for interior decoration when in flower.
Flowers: Solitary pure white six petalled cup shaped flowers 5cm across on stems to 25cm.
Growth Habit: Small bulbs to 2.5cm in diameter give rise to several erect narrow dark green leaves to 30cm that are evergreen.
Growing Guide: Grow in a sheltered position in full sun.  Grow in any moderately fertile free draining moisture retentive soil.  Cold hardy to 0°C.  Use of a controlled release fertiliser according to manufacturer directions will increase bulb and flower size.
